2014 McCarthy Award Winner!

The Center for the Study of Social Movements at the University of Notre Dame is very pleased to announce that the winner of the 2014 John D. McCarthy Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Scholarship of Social Movements and Collective Behavior is Bert Klandermans! The award not only recognizes Bert’s extraordinary achievements in research, but also the role that he has played in mentoring successive generations of scholars. Bert is often referred to as an international ambassador for social movement scholarship, in recognition of the way in which he has connected social movement scholars in the United States to those in Europe and in other parts of the world as well. We are thrilled that Bert has honored us by agreeing to accept the award, and we hope that you will join us for the celebration.
